Hate crimes law

Well Pres Obama signed the hate crimes bill into law. There shouldn't have to be special protection for any group, and there wouldn't have to be if Local law enforcement would go after assaults and murders and not ignore and not prosecute the offenders. The hate crime laws wouldnt be needed.

In the News Agin

Well the House has passed the energy Bill or tax as I see it. Now I am all for clean renewable energy. But its a gonna cost us the average American a lot more than what they re saying. Also its not gonna really help bring a persons energy costs down. Now hopefully the senate will have the balls to fix or kill the bill.
Now as I said I'm all for clean energy. But One thing I've seen is that a lot people including myself until 4 months ago live in apartments. Its hard to cut your heating and cooling costs living there. You can't put a solar panel on the roof or a wind mill out side your door. Hell most won't let you get a dish for TV. Also in most neighborhoods the City wont let you do it either. BS zoning. Now since they have come up with the roll out, nano solar collectors is to make it so people can just add them to their roof and thus get their daytime power from that. The first step is to get the zoning laws changed to allow it. That alone would cut residential power cost by at least 1/3. Thus lowering emission's untill we can get the large solar plants and the New Nuclear ones up and running.

Sides

The old saying gos the more things change the more they stay the same. I'm finding that more true now than what I thought. I consider myself a Conservative on some issues and a liberal on others.I am finding myself believing Glen Beck more and more. He said the System as it is now is broken Period! Doesn't matter who is in power. Now I for one don't fit either party perfectly. I'm ex military, white, pro -gun ownership and Death penalty, A fiscal conservative and anti abortion in almost all cases. So most would think I'm a Republican. On the other hand I want to see gays serve openly period I want either Full marriage rights for them or civil unions that give all the same rights. The defence of Marriage act and Don't ask don't tell was The biggest mistake that Pres Clinton signed into law. So You would think I'm a democrat.

Do I think that the nut case that shot the abortion doctor or the other that attacked and killed the guard at the Holocaust Museum were incited by Limbaugh or Bill Oreilly. If that were so Id want to see the same civil laws used on them that were used on the other white supremacists because they were inciting it . (I believe the mother of the slain man was awarded the Groups headquarters.) I have seen no one file a suit against anyone and until they do I wont say anything other than Both should get the death penalty for the murders. But thats hasnt happined and wont because theyre not to blam for a few nut causeing the crimes.

Health Care reform

Let me say the following first. I dont support Obama. I didnt vote for him. That being said I have a few things to state about health care in this country. First it is a complicated issue but one we have to adress and i dont mean in 4 years but now. I count myself lucky. I get my care through the VA because I served in the military. Today my girlfriend took our Neighbor to Dallas to see her Doctor well there was a problim He wont see her. He wont take her insurance. So now she has to find a new doctor.
This situation is not that rare, I wish it was but it is a growing problim in this country. The Question is how to fix it. I am NOT in favor of a one payer system i.e. goverment run. My Idea would be 1.To grant tax deductions for people who make enough to file taxes if they get health insurance. 2.Have the health insurance companys Set up large group rate plans for those people who are self employed or work for small companies. So that the Companys and those self employeds costs can be reduced. 3 Lawsuit reform. One of the biggest costs to doctors is malpractice insurance. The way you can file a lawsuit for anything needs to change. So that groundless suits will stop. Lawsuit reform is one thing the Federal gov can and must do. That alone will bring down health care costs. But it is not all we can do. We have to tell the politicans in Washington we have to fix this and not with a Big goverment Run health giant.
